Tweetie-pie

This little bird turned up at the nursery in early July and we’ve been refering to it as a canary because we can’t find it in any bird book. It has a bright yellow chest and yellow blob on the back of its head, greenish streaks on its back and distinctive white tail feathers. It is also very tame and will come within a foot of us and spends a lot of time eating grass seeds on the ground. It has a call a little like a greenfinch and seems to think it is one as it follows them around the nursery! Thanks to one of our customers it has now been confirmed as a canary.
