Directions

Please note that there are no toilet or café facilities at the nursery. The nearest public toilets are in Heptonstall village (opposite the Weavers Square).

Payment at the nursery is by cash or cheque only.

Slack Top is approximately 2 miles from the centre of Hebden Bridge.

If travelling from the Halifax direction, there is no right turn up the hill at the Slack traffic lights so please use the turning circle. From the A646 the road to the nursery begins at the traffic lights for Slack Top. For GPS users, try Heptonstall rather than Hebden Bridge.

Local Information

Slack Top is a small hamlet close to the popular tourist spots of Hebden Bridge and the historic village of Heptonstall. 'Slack' means a flat topped ridge between two valleys. The nursery also overlooks the picturesque National Trust Hardcastle Crags beauty spot, with plenty of beautiful walks nearby.

Hebden Bridge has a good variety of shops and cafes, a canal with boat rides and plenty of accommodation options - please click here for Hebden Bridge Tourist Information website. Eateries range from delicious teashops to organic, Italian and Greek restaurants, or the more traditional bar meals.

The nursery unfortunately has no toilet facilities, and the nearest public toilets are situated in nearby Heptonstall, or at cafes in Hebden Bridge.
