The
Garden
The naturalistic garden, begun in 1980 and spanning approximately a quarter
acre, has a beautiful setting overlooking moors and woodland, and features
rock and scree gardens, a 100ft planted wall, herbaceous beds, woodland
planting, ponds, an indoor rockery, many stone troughs and other innovative
planting ideas.
Most of the plants growing in the garden are available for sale in the
nursery.
Delicate colour
There is plenty to see in the garden between the months of March to September,
with some of the highlights including:

March & April
– spring flowerers including Saxifraga, Hepatica, Anemone nemorosa
varieties (wood anemone)
May & June
– Gentiana, Primula, Leucogenes, Meconopsis quintuplinervia, Paeonia
species and Pulsatilla
Summer months
– Celmisia semicordata, Lilies, Geraniums, Lewisias, Oxalis (including
our beautiful range of Oxalis Slack Top Hybrids), Primula Harlow Carr
hybrids
Accessibility
The site is of a sloping nature, with stone paths and steps around the
garden, so unfortunately it is not easy to access in a wheelchair. However,
we will make every effort to make the site as accessible as possible to
visitors with disabilities, and there is some seating available around
the garden.
