Please support specialist nurseries

Despite the current focus on the problems the recent heatwave has caused for agriculture, it has also been a tough year for horticulture. The long dull winter followed by two beasts from the east and then straight into a record heatwave has understandably put people off buying plants for the garden when it is difficult to keep them watered. However now the end of the extreme heat looks to be in sight, please come and support us, at the nursery or by mail order, as we have lots of lovely plants which need to be in your garden rather than on our sales benches!

The nursery is open Friday-Sunday inclusive, from 10am-5pm, until the end of August. The sales area has been restocked, so there are lots of lovely things to choose from including Gladiolus flanaganii, Erigeron karvinskianus (Mexican daisy), the lovely scented Dianthus 'Night Star', long flowering Erodium 'Bishops Form', Sedum kamschaticum and loads more. Given the unseasonal weather the garden is still looking pretty good too. We have plenty of seating around the garden, some in shade, some in sun, and there are cafes at Heptonstall village (quarter of a mile) or Hebden Bridge. There's usually a lovely little breeze up here too to cool these amazing temperatures, and some very welcome rain in the forecast!
